Lunch with the Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama is the latest high-profile guest to Leeds, and perhaps one of the most well known international figures to share in the hospitality of Create’s great food.

Speaking recently at the Yorkshire International Business Convention, the Dalai Lama and his team choose Create to cater their private lunch for their guests.

Mr Thubten Samdup, representative of the Dalai Lama, said the day was “a wonderful opportunity for Yorkshire’s business leaders to hear a distinctive message of ethics and morality from one of the world’s most revered spiritual leaders”. In his message, during his eight day visit to the UK, the spiritual leader spoke of his hope for youth and the significance of employment.

The party shared the best in local Yorkshire produce produced by Create chefs in a menu devised by Richard Walton-Allen.

Sarah Dunwell, founder of Create (pictured with the team) said, “The lunch was great and the Dalai Lama was a pleasure to serve. Our passion is for real hospitality and wanting the best in our food and our people. It was a pleasure to be in the presence of someone who exuded that hospitality in treating us all as honoured guests and not waiting staff.”
